About HeartyEarth
Dr Saman is a part-time Senior Lecturer at Oxford Brookes University, a trustee for several charities and community centres, and a regular community volunteer. Through HeartyEarth, they help coordinate nearly 200 active and passive community ambassadors across Oxford and beyond, supporting seven initiatives in different locations.
The project is built around the ethos of “Aspire to Inspire”, encouraging people to support one another and make practical differences in their local communities.
The Challenge: Finding Space in Oxford
Like many community led organisations in Oxford, HeartyEarth faces an ongoing challenge: lack of space. Without a permanent premises, the initiative relies largely on a Surplus EV van to collect, store, and distribute items for families and charities in need.
